Wills and Elder Law

I advise clients about how to provide for their own needs and those of loved ones in the event of

incapacity, disability and death. I try to overcome my clients’ natural reluctance to deal with these

issues with a combination of legal knowledge and kindness.

By making your own plans in advance, you can give your family and other loved ones the gift of peace of

mind. Misunderstandings are avoided. Costs are minimized and court proceedings are not necessary.

You can expect that I will ask questions and then listen carefully to your answers before making

recommendations. My services include drafting wills, trusts, durable powers of attorneys and living

wills. The documents are tailored individually based upon each client’s needs.

Elder Law includes not only planning for death, but planning for a decline in ability to care for yourself.

Depending on a senior client’s wishes, I may meet with family members to address living arrangements,

caregiving and financial planning issues. Medicaid planning is only one aspect of this process. When a

residence must be changed, I offer my services as a Real Estate Attorney. When families have differing

views about how to care for a senior family member, I offer my services as an Elder Law Mediator. When

incapacity makes it necessary, I offer my services for Conservatorships and Guardianships.
